All meetings, unless announced otherwise, are held at the Emy Frentz Guild, 523 S. 2nd Street (across the parking lot from the YWCA).

Poetry and Wine Evenings

Featured readings by one or two poets, followed by an open-mike reading. Bring your favorites! The third Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm.

Lunch and Poetry – SMPS Meetings

YOU are invited to our SMPS meetings on the second Saturday of each month at 12:30 (bring your lunch)

Agenda: Eat, speaker or panel talking about poetry, sharing of poems, critique workshops or other fun poetry-related activities.

Annual Poetry Events

• Jan, Blizzard Poetry Retreat, run by Sue Chambers and generally held at her home near Mankato. Poets gather and share food and a short 1/2 hr program with each other. Lots of great poems written, read and inspired here!
• Feb to Mar, The Image & The Word  – an exhibit created by Yvonne Cariveau and Derek Liebertz to showcase local photographers and poets inspired by one another. Web site for Image and the Word
• April, League of Mn Poets Meeting – somewhere in MN
• June, NFSPS (National Poetry) Convention
• June, Eisteddfod – a Welsh tradition of poetry and song in an outdoor setting (Morgan Creek Vineyards when we are lucky) that includes a competition to win a hand-crafted beautiful chair.  The “Chairing of the Bard”
• July, Woodtick Poetry Retreat, run by Sue Chambers and held at her family’s northern MN cabin.  Poets from all over Mn can gather to write, read and play with poetry for a few days together.
